More ...In our laboratory, the current interests is extensively derected on three themes. Almost research themes are concerned with studying the interaction among lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. The first theme is magma mingling and mixing of magma chamber by the igneous petrology of tephra deposits. The second theme is the interaction between microorganisms in the crust and the environmental change in the earth’s history. The third theme is to establish the technology on phytoremediation of soil and water contaminated heavy metals. The projects on the phytoremediation have been undertaken in collaboration with industry and other universities. Recently, we have put the phytoremediation of radiactive Cs by a plant to practical use.
